Prayers for Christmas

By | 22nd December 2020

  • Lord help us all to keep for this Christmas
The birth of Christ our main and simple focus
that the truthful message of You loving
us so much it will never be changing.
Our Mighty God, make peace reign in our heart
This year when Christmas is so very different.

  • When voices whisper to us “be afraid”
May your promise be the truth that is shared
That you came to bring rest to the weary
To forgive us and claim the final victory.
Our Prince of Peace, may your presence be here
At our tables with empty chairs this year.

  • Release the joy crushed by so much illness
fill all our heart with it and make us blessed
Give us a calm and quiet spirit
And a hope so strong it will never quit.
Like the shepherds who heard the angels sing
We welcome you, our joy, our hope our King.

  • Your name is called the Wonderful Counsellor
The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father,
We choose by faith the Good News you bring us
That others may see us as light in darkness.
O King of Kings, give us a faith that’s so strong
That others want to follow and belong.

  • Thank you for your amazing gift of Love
That we receive today from you above
help us all to never forget
that you are Jesus the Love incarnate.
    O Majesty, our glorious redeemer,
We worship You for now and forever.
