‘God’s Spring Garden’ – A new painting for a newly painted space!

By | 8th May 2024
‘God’s Spring Garden’, painted by Ela – friend of Hugh Norton.

Hugh invited Ela to paint a picture for our chapel at The Living Well. Hugh is a regular guest with us, and a great supporter, often bringing home baked goodies on a Thursday morning that are much welcomed; but in this incredible gift what Hugh had not known was that as he invited Ela to paint, to encourage her obvious talent so we were planning to have the chapel (and library)  redecorated. The timing was amazing as the completed picture arrived just as we began to use the freshly decorated space following Easter, which is a holy reminder that we can – know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 ESV.

A new painting for a newly painted space.
If we recall for a moment the early morning, the Easter Garden, a place and particular moment in time, where God’s resurrection power was made known to those gathered in the Risen Christ, freed from the tomb– we are also heartily reminded of the goodness of God in the newly resurrected, newly flourishing garden and countryside, springing up all around us, in which we may meet God.
For His (God’s) invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:20 ESV

Thank you, Hugh and Ela, our thanks and every blessing as we enjoy the painting and all that God is doing amongst us….
